New York City braces for snowstorm

NEW YORK — The New York metropolitan area is preparing for a snowstorm on Tuesday, according to a state department official.

The storm could bring down power lines, and the area could see road closures, according the state’s Office of Emergency Management.

The New Yorkers in the area are encouraged to avoid driving as much as possible, and should use snow shovels and shovels with the side of the road closed, the official said.
